Compared to Chapel Hill, Carrboro holds a more laid back atmosphere with a smaller downtown area. This community has a delicious selection of restaurants, markets and cafes. The traditional Carrboro Farmers’ Market serves locally grown produce every Saturday for locals and visitors. Cat’s Cradle, a popular music venue situated in the heart of downtown Carrboro, holds concerts for both local bands and well-known artists from across the country. With a worthwhile trip to the ArtsCenter, a center filled with spirit and creativity for all ages, one can indulge in the various art, dance and chorus shows or classes. Weaver Street Market at Carr Mill Mall features an outdoor lawn space that on occasion doubles as a music venue and serves as a prime community spot for townspeople to come together for events. Additionally, the annual Carrboro Music Festival is a not-to-miss event where artists come together to show off their musical and artistic talents and skills.
