Meadowmont
The first neighborhood we feature in Eastern Chapel Hill is Meadowmont. Construction for Meadowmont started in 1999 with the goal to keep history and community together. You can find a walkable neighborhood with playgrounds and parks, tree-lined streets, welcoming front porches, sidewalks on both sides of the street, and old stone walls along over 400-acres. Homes in the area consist of luxury townhomes, condos, wooded estate homes and craftsman style cottages all within minutes of the Meadowmont Village shopping and business district.

Meadowmont

The Oaks, The Oaks II, The Oaks Villas

If school districts are important to you, make sure you look into which area of the Oaks the property is located in as there are two different school districts throughout the neighborhood.

This neighborhood is made up of 400+ homes with a variety of size and price, making it a great place for anyone to live. Most lots in Colony Woods are wooded with home styles that vary, though the majority tend to be split-level or ranches as were popular during their early construction in the 1960’s with homes being built into the 1990’s. This is a popular neighborhood due to its location near Duke University, UNC, and I-40.
Colony Lake
Just north of Colony Woods you can find Colony Lake, which is a mixed-use neighborhood with both row homes and duplexes as well as detached homes. This community has many amenities such as a central private lake, playgrounds, tennis courts, and green space. Colony Lake is also conveniently located near I-40, the universities, and Chapel Hill’s free bus system.
Ridgefield and Briarcliff
The two neighborhoods of Ridgefield and Briarcliff back up to each other in Eastern Chapel Hill. Together they make-up a welcoming community with a variety of home sizes, styles, and prices. You can find homes from apartments to 4-5 bedroom detached homes with construction starting as early as the 1940’s through to the 2000’s. Ridgefield and Briarcliff offer a great location close to many main roads, the bus line, commercial business districts and shopping centers, as well as both area Universities.
Downing Creek
The neighborhood of Downing Creek construction started in the late 1980’s into the 90’s and has single family homes, townhomes, and condominiums located in the Chapel Hill section of Durham County. The community HOA dues cover maintenance of the 47 acres of common grounds and two stocked ponds, as well as a jogging trail, picnic and playground areas, community pool, and tennis courts. There are two townhome subdivisions within Dowing Creek which are popular, known as Cranebridge Place and Bradford Place Townhome communities, where they enjoy the amenities of Downing Creek. Downing Creek is a great overall community for any type of lifestyle! From their numerous neighborhood events hosted throughout the year for all age groups, from Oktoberfest parties to Parent Meet-up Dates, to the pool and walking trails there is much to enjoy in addition to the wide range of home styles and prices.
Falconbridge
The community of Falconbridge has 163 townhomes as well as numerous detached single-family homes, which were built starting in the 1980’s. This neighborhood was designed as a low maintenance community with well thought out floorplans, open concept style interiors, pickleball courts, a pool and patio, and a clubhouse. This welcoming neighborhood hosts many events throughout the year to get everyone involved and increase a sense of community. Falconbridge is in east Chapel Hill but a part of Durham County.
Kirkwood
You can find both townhomes and detached homes varying in style and prices in the neighborhood of Kirkwood. Construction started for Kirkwood in the 1980s. They have a community pool and tennis courts as well as a convenient location to I-40, RDU, UNC, and downtown Chapel Hill.
