Gibsonville North Carolina is a town of over 8,000 citizens that is located between both Alamance and Guilford counties. With over 150 years of rich history Gibsonville still celebrates its past and welcomes all travelers to join in the community. According to the town's website, Gibsonville has “been the ‘CITY of ROSES’ since the early 20th Century when passengers traveling through town on the North Carolina Railroad saw the masses of rose bushes growing along the fence at Minneola Mill. The rose is symbolic of our past and future so we continue to plant more” (About Gibsonville — Town of Gibsonville NC).
If you would like to learn more about the history of Gibsonville while in the area there is a popular place to stop by right in town called the Red Caboose Welcome Center and Town Train History! You can just pop into this unattended little station for some brochures, photos and more. You’ll learn fun facts, such as gold once being found in Gibsonville which had hundreds flocking to the area to get rich! Another popular open to the public attraction is the Gibsonville Garden Railroad (GGRR) which is an outdoor small train track that is made up of over 2,400 feet of track with 20 trains running on it at one time! Modern Day Gibsonville
When you visit Gibsonville today you will still get that small southern town feel of community. You will be welcomed into the town by the beautiful Clocktower on the building of Wade’s Jewelers which has been in business over 75 years.
