You can find a variety of both public and private courses available all over North Carolina but in this article, we highlight those that are within the boundaries of Durham County. They offer a uniqueness of peaceful rolling golf greens with the close proximity to all downtown Durham and the universities have to offer!
There are ten golf courses in Durham County, North Carolina, with one being a municipal course. The oldest course in the Durham area is the Duke University Golf Club which was designed by Robert Trent Jones, ASGCA/ Rees Jones, ASGCA and opened in 1957. The longest course is The Country Club At Wakefield Plantation, which is 7,257 yards. Treyburn Country Club is rated the best course in Durham. The following courses have won various awards: Treyburn Country Club, Old Chatham Golf Club.
