Southern Chapel Hill, or as we call it SoChap, offers many great communities that are welcoming, walkable, and new with being just minutes to the action and amenities of Downtown Chapel Hill. From high end luxury homes, private golf courses, and large wooded lots to small neighborhoods walking distance to schools and shops, SoChap offers a range of home types to fit anyone's needs. Governors Club
Located just south of Chapel Hill, at the very top of Chatham Country is the gated community Governor’s Club. This neighborhood is a nationally recognized private club featuring 27-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course with over 1,200 homesites. As the Triangle’s only gated golf community and private club, Governors Club offers large luxury homes. The homes have unique views of the golf course, the mature surrounding woods of NC, lakes and streams. Governors Club offers both newly constructed homes as well as homesites for custom builds. Detached home price ranges in this community range from $700,000 dollars to well over $2 million. Homesite lots range in price from $100,000 to over $300,000. Within Governor's Club there are ten neighborhoods. These neighborhoods range from 2-3 bedroom condos and cottages to large detached homes. Construction started in 1990 for Governor’s Club and new homesites are being built on today!
Governor's Village
Located ten minutes south of downtown Chapel Hill is another planned community known as Governors Village. Made up of six smaller neighborhoods throughout, you can find a place to live from well appointed apartments to first class homes! There are playgrounds, walking paths, a swimming pool, and other recreation activities throughout for its residents to enjoy. There are commercial businesses in Governor’s Village giving walking distance to retail and more. Construction started in the late 1990s through the 2000s.

Fuller Homes started construction around 2013 and is known for beautifully designed homes and a welcoming community neighborhood.
