Holly Springs

Nestled among Apex, Cary and Fuquay-Varina– all towns experiencing growth from the heavily populated Raleigh and Research Triangle Park areas– Holly Springs is rapidly growing. The town of less than 1,000 just two decades ago in 1990 has grown to more than 25,000. Holly Springs began as a crossroads located near freshwater springs and an abundance of holly trees, where travelers would stop to quench their thirst. While that bit of history doesn’t continue today, residents and visitors do indulge in what’s flowing from the growing town’s popular craft breweries, including Carolina Brewing Company and Bombshell Beer Company, one of the first female-owned breweries in North Carolina.
 Holly Springs is in the center of the Triangle region and is within 35 miles of 15 colleges and universities Among those are three world-renowned research universities: Duke University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and North Carolina State University. The region also is home to a dozen more small liberal arts colleges, historically black institutions and colleges.
For years, town leaders have become increasingly confident that Holly Springs is positioned to experience high growth, propelled by the economic engine of Research Triangle Park (RTP). In 2007, Holly Springs was ranked the 22nd best small town to live in, according to a CNNMoney.com evaluation.
The town also manages to have festivals and events all year round; among these are Chili Cook-off in Oct, Happy Holly Days Christmas parade and HollyFest community celebration in the late fall. Food enthusiasts are flocking to this town.  If you are a pizza lover, Acme Pizza Co is the best restaurant you will find in Holly Springs. Japanese food enthusiasts will love to visit Kobe Hibachi & Sushi . From the past to the present, from the small-town atmosphere where people still know each other by name to the frequent, unique family-oriented activities, Holly Springs is a town that is continuing to grow not just in population and industry but also in heart.

•  Holly Springs ranked seventh nationally and the top small city in N.C. in the financial advice website WalletHub's analysis of 30 key indicators of livability. WalletHub compared 1,268 cities nationwide between 25,000 and 100,000 population on criteria such as affordability, economic health, education, safety, and quality of life.
