I first met Carl at an open house at one of his listings. I didn't get that house but I did get a fantastic realtor out of the meeting. I came to Durham for medical reasons and loved it so much decided to stay. I wasn't really sure where I wanted to live, I just knew that I wanted to be close to everything.
Coming from San Francisco, I was used to having a certain kind of lifestyle that included walking everywhere, really small spaces and being in a condo. Carl was great at helping me narrow down neighborhoods to focus my search by picking my brain to find out what was really important to me with the location, kind of property and function within the house; he got a good laugh at my hatred of microwaves over the oven. When on house tours, he was great at asking me questions about the space, pointing out any potential issues or items that might need immediate attention and reeling me in when I started talking about making changes. Carl was also great at helping me stick to my budget, which I did eventually increase because I wasn't comfortable with making quick decisions about a house in such a fast-moving market. Once I found my house, I knew it the moment I walked in and Carl could tell by my reaction. When we started the negotiations, I knew that I was in good hands; Carl was on top of everything. He and his staff made sure that everything was in line and that the process was smooth and easy for me. I am so happy with my decision to move to Durham and I owe Carl many thanks for helping me make that possible. -Jessica
